At the end of 2012, Laurence was walking Kara, a dog that had been recently rescued from Turkey. Kara got away from him and made a break for it. Here is an email that day from Laurence's daughter, Han:



"To Whom It May Concern,



We have lost our dog Kara around 36th and L. Avenue. He ran away from my dad while he was walking him today, Monday, Dec 3 around 1 pm. Please let me know what steps I can take beyond looking for him and putting up posters. I'm grateful for any information you may have.


H." 



This book is an organized collection of such messages exchanged and images taken by Laurence in the search for Kara, a search that continued into 2013 and went on for weeks and months. Unfortunately, Kara was never found in 2013.



Remarkably, during the first week of 2015, two full years later, Kara was finally found.
